It's not you, it's me.

So sorry my dear followers, it seems like I just can't find the time to blog about the outfits I parade around in. Maybe one day, I shall return but for now, remember me as I was. LOL take it easy :)

The Debbie Reynolds Dress

The moment I laid eyes on this dress I immediately thought of Debbie Reynolds. The playful, feminine floral print, the 1950s circle skirt and neckline, epitomizes the style of the classic film starlet. For some reason unbeknownst to me I decided to wear this dress on Saturday, completely forgetting the fact that I was going to a show later that evening, at an ancient bar on the seedier side of University Avenue in San Diego. So eventually I had to change out of this little darling of a dress into something more appropriate, but I kept the bow. I should have just went into the bar looking like this. haha.

M.I.A.

It's been too long since my last post, but I've been terribly busy. At the moment I'm working on a friend's feature film and will be super busy until mid-July or so. So although I won't be able to take outfit pictures, which would actually be super amusing, not to mention relevant to this blog since I wear a ton of dresses and cute things while I'm working, I will be able to update you on a few things. You see, I get these lovely breaks, and yesterday I actually wandered off to a thrift store and scored a cute navy sailor collar dress and some nude peep toe heels. I'll take a picture of it and post my thrifted finds throughout this shoot. Then when I am back, I will style them and wear 'em for you lovelies!

Little Foxes

This dress was made by my mother and I, after I found myself falling in love with Charlotte Taylor’s Autumn/Winter 2011 line featuring animal prints (literally, the line has beautiful garments covered in animal silhouettes). Being a mighty animal lover, I just had to have something like it. But also being the lowly commoner I am, I knew it would be impossible for me to get a hold of a piece of Charlotte Taylor’s line. And so, I scoured the internet for a similar garment, a knockoff, something! The closest thing I got to what I was looking for was the Leah Goren cat print dress that has been floating around tumblr and fashion blogs pretty recently. However, I could not stomach taking a 160 dollar loss for her amazing dress and so I opted to make a version of my own. I hand painted the fox heads on the fabric, and my wonderful mother sewed me this adorable baby doll dress out of it. I probably spent around 20 bucks for this cute little number.

Fending off June Gloom with Cozy Pendleton Wool

It's been so gloomy for the past week and silly me, I did not think to pack anything but cute dresses and rompers to wear while visiting my grandmother. My grandmother appreciated all the outfits I wore, and often complemented me on my good taste. But I was on the bridge of hypothermia throughout the entire visit, and you could often find me huddled on the couch almost completely covered with a large fluffy blanket, with only my eyes and nose peeking out in the direction of my grandmother's favorite television series Criminal Minds (of which I am now morbidly addicted to, thank you mum mum). So in celebration of my survival and triumphant return home, I went to watch X-Men First Class (I was dying to watch this, and was not disappointed at all), and for the first time in a week I was dressed appropriately...

oh and I almost forgot to mention, I'm debuting my new hair cut! Many thanks to my amazing mother who always manages to decipher my confusing musings, and cut my hair exactly the way I want it.

A Predict a Drought

I never really had a chance to take any outfit pictures last week, and this week I'll be doing a long overdue, but routine visit to my grandmother. I'd like to say there will be someone there to willingly take pictures of my silly outfits, but there won't be, and not to mention I'd probably feel too embarrassed if any else took my photo haha. However seeing as I'll probably have a lot of time to burn while I'm here (I finished a novel day one of being here), I'll probably find something to post about, related or not.

I do have a photo of me in a outfit this past Sunday when I went to a screening/party of my friend's thesis film at UCLA. They planned to have a little champagne pre-party on the roof of the Broad Art building because of the view, and it was in fact a grand view. And me being the little inappropriate daredevil, thought it'd be a great idea to climb the ladder along the tallest part of the building to get to the very top for an even better view, despite me wearing a pretty sheer peach chiffon dress with no biker shorts or bloomers to speak of, and just my pink and white polka dot undies to shield my bum from the unsuspecting world below. But I think it was worth it, and hey if anyone saw my undergarments they should be impressed, because it totally matched the rest of the outfit. WIN!

Golden Afternoon

This is probably the preppiest I'll ever dress on this blog. I know I've dressed quite girly in the past, but never this preppy. But to be perfectly honest I think the winds have changed in terms of my style habits, from preppy to more grungy, and I think the warmer weather has something to do with it. I always go through style phases and some reoccur. A few times I've gone completely boyish wearing nothing but cuffed jeans and collared shirts layered under grandpa sweaters. This time however, as the weather gets warmer I find it way more unbearable to layer as much, and collar shirts although are super adorable, have found residence in the back of my drawers. Nowadays I'm sporting baggy, lighter clothing and cotton is currently my best friend. But don't think I'm going to go completely grunge on you guys all of a sudden, and leave all my dresses behind. When I started this blog I figured I'd get all dressed up once in a while and post pictures of the outfits, but it never really occurred to me to post all sorts of things I wear. Now I think it's time to transition into something more like that. Lots of outfits, not just dresses and heels. I think it'll give me more freedom and most likely more posts will result from it. For now let's just gawk at my latest look, something I describe as, "something I'd wear on a visit to meet Jackie O."
