I've entitled this post after Tarina Tarantino's line of jewelry featuring original illustrations from the Lewis Carroll
childrens' classic, Alice in Wonderland, and its sequel Through the Looking Glass. It's actually the second of three different releases of Tarina Tarantino jewelry featuring Alice, the first being Vintage Queen Alice which had a Victorian jewelry kind of vibe to it. Acid Alice was second and had a new colorful twist. The illustrations were decked out with psychedelic colors, mushrooms, and cheeky quotes like "eat me." It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I read Alice and Wonderland and Through the Looking glass when I was around the tender age of 9 and loved it. I adored how Alice came across the craziest characters, and wanted to meet every wack job she met, including the annoying ones. Now that I'm older I'm hesitant to re-read the piece of literature I treasured so much, mostly because I'm sure that if I did I'd find that my eccentricities are the product of those strange novels. Oh and I forgot to mention I did manage to get a hold of a piece of jewelry from that line, a lovely orange beaded bracelet featuring colorful mushrooms and the words "eat me." I'll probably be incorporating it into an outfit sometime soon and when I do I'll be sure to get a close up of it.
It probably seems like we've just been talking about nothing in particular, but since this is a post by me and not by someone else, what may seem like mere ramblings is actually a tangent that connects to something I had in mind. And so, if you look to my latest outfit you'll see that I'm wearing a really crazy, colorful floral skirt. How does it relate to Alice? Well, remember the Disney animated version of the story? You know those talking flowers? Yup, that's my connection. Pretty far fetched I know, but that is how my mind works.

Hahaha! I like your explanation for how this relates to Alice =) This outfit is so cute! I really like the dots with the floral print, your headband and your glasses...and you are lucky to have the ivory and blue UO saddle shoes! I wanted them in that color but didn't buy them fast enough, so I just have the ivory and black ones.
ReplyDeletehaha thanks! Seriously though that color sold out so fast, when I bought them almost all the other sizes were already gone. I still love the ivory and black ones though, which I've basically worn to death. They should restock or make more colors!
