Finally an outfit post after a long hiatus. As my previous post mentions I can't help but find myself preoccupied with multiple things at the same time, and inevitably projects either fall to the wayside or get neglected for a while until I rediscover my past fascinations and get back on the bandwagon. The title of the post is a reference to the Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, a copy of which I am holding throughout the photos of this post. It was a gift from my sister, who is aware of my current obsession with science fiction and fantasy novels I've been collecting from used book stores. My nose has been most recently buried in Earthworks a novel by Brian Aldiss, an author I was introduced to by the badass drummer in the drums & bass duo called
the Dabbers. Initially I was looking for the recommended novel, Hothouse, but seeing that it's a rare out of print treasure, I came across two of his other works which seem equally as interesting.
Anyway, check out both the band and the author if you can, and for now we'll get back to the outfit. It seemed that the weather took a liking to the theme of the post by sending major gusts of wind my way as if to mimic Dorothy's tornado. And of course I was more concerned with my hat flying off instead of worrying about my dress flying up and flashing innocent bystanders. But luckily, being as immature as I am has it's perks, and instead of being embarrassed I just found it terribly amusing. Lastly, if you fail to see the wizard of oz in the outfit, I suggest you just imagine those sparrows on my frock are actually the flying monkeys. Flying monkeys? Nothing says high fashion like flying monkeys.
